About Malu Life and how it came to being
Malu is an Hawaiian word meaning peaceful thoughts, a goal I have always sought. I have been so many things, a Meditation Teacher, a Reiki Master, a Hypnotherapist, a Sociologist, a Truth Seeker, a Dog Breeder, a Wife, a Mum and a Nanna. My life, blessed, happy and content until breast cancer, radiation and years later unexplained panic attacks and anxiety. I researched alternatives to anti- depressants to relieve the symptoms and often came across that word – “magnesium”.
My kitchen became my factory and with some answers from alternate thinking practitioners I made my first magnesium oil. Magnesium cream was a great challenge but I won and perfected the formula. Long soaks in magnesium baths showed me transdermal absorption (through the skin) is healthy, effective and enjoyable. I learned how a lack of magnesium affects our whole well-being, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I have enjoyed the journey of sharing the magnesium story, firstly to family, friends, then at local markets and now here on ‘Malu.life’. Feedback has been amazing, “I feel so much better” are words I here so often, magnesium supplementation has stopped restless legs, cramps – particularly with those undergoing chemotherapy, relieved panic attacks, anxiety and depression, helped with insomnia, arthritic aches and pains, pain after injuries and headache relief.
So my mission now is to let my world know how magnesium “rocks”! A vital mineral destroyed by our depleted soils, over processed foods and toxic environment, yet easily boosted with a few sprays of magnesium oil daily. Children can be given magnesium in a bath or a reduced strength oil, athletes lose magnesium in their sweat and can use a double strength oil, and the rest of us simply need a few sprays of a quality magnesium spray daily to help maintain good health. Supplementing with oral magnesium is not as effective and can have dire results!
Magnesium keeps me and my loved ones well and I want to share health with you.
I have spent time in McLeod Ganj, home of the Dalai Lama and the many Tibetans there so all things of the Himalayas fascinate me. Himalayan salt lamps had an instant impact and several of them light my home at night-time with their almost sacred glow. They are so pretty, so peaceful and super special. I would like to share their health benefits and calmness with everyone. Himalayan salt is very beneficial for our health, to eat, in our cooking and even in our bath as a soft, silky detox and has become a special part of our range of goods.
These are simple products that can truly make great changes. I believe, like Dr Carolyn Dean that magnesium is the missing link to better health. I want to offer a stronger, happier and balanced life for you, for our children and future generations.
